What happens at home is EVERYTHING to a preschooler. This is why our next theme will focus on our homes and families. We just finished up our theme “all about me” and now it is time to learn about our home life, who lives with us, who doesn’t, who is in our family unit. Things we do at home. This will give the children the opportunity to talk about the people most important to them and also helps them realize that family, the people we live with, is something we all have in common, regardless of how our families look! Some families have brothers and sisters, some have none. Some families have a Mom and a Dad, others may just have one or the other, and some may have two Mom’s or Two Dad’s and so on. We will also talk a little about our extended families such as grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
During this theme we will start to introduce our letters of the week, as well as our Spanish vocabulary words. The preschool children will be introduced to their daily work books and do daily “brain boosters” such as counting games; memory games, and continue to strengthen writing skills.
